Xverum is seeking a passionate and Technical Data Product Owner to join our growing team and drive the development of innovative data products, focusing on the technical execution and delivery in close collaboration with engineering and analytics teams. This role also includes ownership and accountability for key product performance indicators (KPIs).

About the Role:

As a Technical Data Product Owner, you will be the bridge between our internal engineering, data science, and analytics teams, ensuring the successful execution and delivery of data products and their overall performance. You will focus on translating high-level requirements into actionable technical specifications, managing the product backlog within sprints, and facilitating communication and collaboration within the development teams. This role requires a strong understanding of data analytics, a passion for building impactful data products, excellent technical communication and collaboration skills, and a data-driven mindset focused on achieving product goals. While strategic vision is important, the primary focus is on the "how" of product development, working closely with the teams to execute on the "what" and "why" defined by leadership, while also being accountable for the "how well" by driving product KPIs.

Responsibilities:

• Define and own product KPIs: Establish, monitor, and report on key product performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the success and impact of the data products. Analyze performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive initiatives to achieve targets.
• Translate high-level requirements into technical specifications: Work closely with stakeholders to understand the desired outcomes and translate them into detailed technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the development teams.
• Manage the technical product backlog: Maintain a prioritized product backlog, focusing on technical feasibility, dependencies, and sprint planning. Collaborate with engineering and data science leads to refine and groom the backlog.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and data science teams: Act as the primary point of contact for the development teams, clarifying requirements, answering questions, and providing guidance throughout the development process.
• Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives: Ensure smooth execution of Agile methodologies within the development teams.
• Define and track technical KPIs: Work with the teams to define and track key technical performance indicators to measure product quality, performance, and stability.
• Ensure data quality and integrity: Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all data products.
• Manage technical dependencies: Identify and manage dependencies between different components and systems to ensure smooth integration and deployment.
• Troubleshooting and problem solving: Work with the development teams to identify and resolve technical issues that arise during the development process.
• Stay up-to-date with technical trends: Keep abreast of the latest trends in data analytics, big data technologies, and software development best practices.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams: Clearly communicate technical requirements, progress updates, potential roadblocks, and KPI performance to stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics).
• Relevant experience as a Technical Product Owner or similar role, preferably in the data analytics or big data space.
• Strong understanding of data analytics concepts, methodologies, and tools.
• Experience working with large datasets and data warehousing technologies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and technical writing skills.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear and concise technical specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience defining and tracking product KPIs and using data to inform product decisions.
