Job Description:

We are looking for a visionary VP of R&D to lead and scale our development efforts across multiple locations and platforms. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in shaping the company's strategic direction and driving innovation that supports Buff’s rapid growth. You will oversee the end-to-end development pipeline for our products and ensure seamless integration between technical execution and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with executive leadership to define and execute the technical roadmap that aligns with Buff’s long-term vision. Bring innovative ideas to the table and be a driving force in shaping the future of gaming technology at Buff.
• Team Leadership & Development: Inspire and motivate cross-functional development teams, ensuring a culture of collaboration, ownership, and innovation. Lead and manage multi-location development operations, including offshore teams.
• Scale & Efficiency: Lead the development pipeline for both PC and mobile (Android & iOS) platforms, ensuring scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions that can support millions of users in a dynamic, ad-supported gaming environment.
• Hands-On Technical Guidance: While your focus will be on strategic leadership, some hands-on involvement in code reviews and high-level technical decisions will be required to ensure quality and alignment with Buff’s technical vision.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Product, BI, and other key stakeholders to synchronize business objectives with technical execution, ensuring that development efforts are aligned with the company’s goals.

Qualifications:

• Leadership & Vision: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and grow technical teams. A track record of developing innovative solutions at scale in fast-paced environments is essential.
• Extensive Technical Experience:
• At least 7 years of experience leading development at scale, preferably in mobile apps, gaming, or B2C products.
• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS), backend architecture, and DevOps for a minimum of 5 years.
• Experience with desktop applications (PC clients) is a strong advantage.
• Offshore Team Management: Experience managing distributed and offshore development teams is essential.
• Gaming Industry Passion: A deep understanding of the gaming industry is highly desired, and being an avid gamer is a big plus.
• Startup & Fast-Paced Environment: Experience working in a startup or high-growth tech company is preferred.
• Strong Communication Skills: Fluent in English, with the ability to work effectively in an international environment and across diverse teams.
