Established in 2022, Guardz rapidly emerged as a noteworthy player in the cybersecurity sphere, securing $30M in funding and rallying a dedicated team of 70 industry professionals. Our vision is to foster a safer digital landscape for small and medium businesses across the globe. To this end, we introduced our comprehensive all-in-one Secure & Insure platform in early 2023, and continue to grow and expand our team, our partnerships and our revenue.
We are seeking a talented and hands-on Data Engineer to join our innovative team focused on building our next-generation Managed Detection and Response (MDR) product. In this role, you will architect, develop, and optimize data-intensive systems that underpin our security research and AI initiatives. You will work closely with security researchers and cross-functional teams to build robust, scalable, and production-ready solutions using technologies such as BigQuery, Kusto, Elastic, or Clickhouse.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable data architectures tailored for high-volume, data-intensive applications.
- Work on system and product design discussions to ensure architecture supports security research and AI (LLM) integration.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain data ingestion pipelines to support real-time analytics and AI workflows.
- Build, deploy, and monitor production-ready systems using BigQuery, Kusto, Elastic, or Clickhouse while ensuring efficiency and reliability.
- Work closely with security researchers to understand their data needs and translate them into robust engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AI/ML engineers, to integrate data pipelines with advanced analytics and LLM-based features.
- Ensure systems are resilient, secure, and performant by implementing best practices in deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Optimize existing data systems to enhance performance and handle large-scale security data efficiently.
- Stay up to date with emerging data technologies and security trends to continuously enhance the MDR product.
- Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and mentoring within the team.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role with a strong focus on production systems.
- Proven experience working with at least one of BigQuery, Kusto, Elastic, or Clickhouse in a production environment.
- Deep understanding of data architecture principles, ETL/ELT processes, and pipeline optimization.
- Proficiency in writing production-level code in Python, Java, or similar languages, along with strong SQL skills.
- Strong background in building and maintaining data systems in production environments.
- Familiarity with the cybersecurity domain and handling high-volume security data is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience working collaboratively with security researchers and AI/ML engineers.
- Self-driven, proactive, and passionate about solving complex data problems in fast-paced environments.
- Interest in integrating AI/LLMs to enhance data processing and analytics capabilities.
- Experience with cloud data platforms and services, such as Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or AWS.
- Background in cybersecurity or prior experience in security product development.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
