Job Description
PARSA’s Career Development Officer is a full-time position, responsible for supporting career growth and opportunities within the organization. The role demands professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to manage various tasks and deadlines. Regular hours of work are 8 am to 4 pm 5 days a week on official PARSA business days with the possibility of additional hours based on the nature of the work. Some flexibility in working days, including weekends and holidays, may be required, which will be compensated by days off.
Job Duties
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each job duty satisfactorily. Essential job duties include but are not limited the following:
- Identifying employment, internship and vocational training and skill development opportunities.
- Following up with businesses and Organization, by email, by telephone and in person
- Tracking Internships
- Scheduling and coordinating career/training/industry orientations
- Researching local, provincial and national, industry, employment and business needs
- Conducting skill assessments of each job seeker
- Collecting pertinent information about past work experience, trainings and skills
- Identifying various jobs, careers and/or vocations that these skills and experience could be used
- Monitoring job search sites regularly on daily and weekly base
- Providing job seekers with targeted job postings
- Creating targeted CV for each job seeker using information gathered
- Tracking individual job applications, interviews and results
- Scheduling informational interviews for job seekers
- Preparing job seekers for informational interviews
- Facilitating networking activities to connect job seekers with potential employers.
- Assisting in conducting the Ready4Work/Work4 Excellence curriculum to prepare job seekers for the workforce.

- Organizational Skills: strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Interpersonal Skills: ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse teams and individuals both inside and outside the organization.
- Effective Communication: professional presentation and communication skills, including email, in-person interactions, and through messaging platforms like WhatsApp.

- Problem-solving: ability to follow instructions, seek help when necessary, and tackle challenges effectively.

- Ability to manage schedules effectively and meet deadlines.
- Ability to conduct online research and network in person.
- A University Degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) is required.
- Verifiable experience in employment or career development.
- Excellent proficiency in Dari, Pashto, and English (speaking, writing, reading, and comprehension). Ability to translate Dari to English accurately.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficient in Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, and email communication.
- Ability to type in English, Dari, and Pashto
