Maternity Leave Replacement Needed: Attorney at the Hotline for Refugees and Migrants

The Hotline for Refugees and Migrants is seeking an experienced attorney for a period of approximately 6 months. The Hotline for Refugees and Migrants is a non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the human rights of migrants and refugees, as well as preventing human trafficking in Israel. The legal department at the Hotline is at the forefront of this struggle through strategic litigation in the courts, handling both individual and precedent-setting cases, as well as representing the organization in various public forums.

This is a full-time position based at the Hotline’s office in Tel Aviv, with a hybrid work model (three days a week in the office).

Terms are in accordance with a collective agreement. Salary: 10,550 NIS gross, with generous social benefits.

Expected start date: April 1, 2025.

Job Description:

* Providing legal advice and representation to migrants, asylum seekers, and victims of human trafficking.

* Representing the Hotline and its clients in various courts, drafting individual and strategic petitions, and managing cases.

* Ongoing collaboration with other departments within the Hotline, including providing advice and guidance to the organization’s para-legal coordinators.

Job Requirements:

* At least one year of experience as a licensed attorney. Litigation experience is an advantage.

* Strong knowledge of administrative and constitutional law. Experience with immigration law is a significant advantage.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills in Hebrew and English, with the ability to analyze complex and innovative legal issues.

* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

* Strong teamwork skills, assertiveness, and creativity.

* Commitment to human rights.

* Knowledge of additional languages, particularly Arabic, is an advantage.
