Company Description

Egis with its local partner (altogether called METAV) have been appointed as Network Manager, to work closely with the client in managing the planning, design and construction of 3 new underground metro lines in Tel Aviv. The 3 new metro lines will total 150km fully underground and 109 underground metro stations to serve 24 municipalities. Key figures:

• First stage Operational in 2034.
• Estimated 2 million passengers per day will benefit from the new metro network.
• €50bn estimated cost.
• Benefits to Tel Aviv: 30% increase in public transport use and €8bn in economic benefits to the local economy.
  
  

• Act as the technical and professional program expert for all aspects of underground work on behalf of the client in the process of managing and approving program design deliverables.
• Provide a technical assessment of the designs developed by the line managers , identifying the suitability of the proposed solutions and alternatives, the cost and schedule implications, and the risks and opportunities.
• Ensure alignment of civil/structural aspects of the program with the requirements of operations and maintenance and the rail system.
• Be responsible for the implementation of the civil and structural aspects of the Design Standards and Criteria Manual (MDSM), based on international engineering best practices and with reference to the client's existing Design Standard Manual, all applicable regulations, applicable design standards in force in Israel and international design standards applicable to a metro project
• Be responsible for the implementation of the civil and structural aspects of the "Design Task Guide" for the entire metro network
• Monitor the implementation of and compliance with the MDSM, the Design Management Procedures and the Design Task Guide by Line Managers, Network Designers, Line Designers and all other programme participants for civil and structural aspects and in particular for underground works
• Advise the client on civil engineering works and more particularly on underground works.
  
  

• Senior engineer with at least 15 years’ experience in major infrastructure/transportation projects, especially urban mass-transit schemes.
• Experience in the design, construction and/or supervision of underground mass-transit structures including stations (Cut & Cover, mined, etc), tunnels (TBM and Cut &Cover), shafts, junction boxes, highways, at grade structures, etc.
• Involvement throughout project lifecycle, but especially in the early stages of project development, including option identification / evaluation and value engineering, is desirable.
• Experience of working from the Client’s perspective is desirable.
• Bachelors or Masters degree in civil or structural engineering.
