Our research group at the University of Haifa is expanding, and we are seeking highly motivated candidates to join us as either Postdoctoral Researchers or PhD students.

About Us: Our group focuses on the interface of biophysics, computational modeling, and cellular mechanics. We aim to uncover the physical principles driving biological phenomena, such as the mechanical forces governing cellular structures and viral infections. We leverage advanced computational tools, simulations, and collaborations with leading experimental groups worldwide.

Position Highlights:

• Position Title: Postdoctoral Researcher or PhD Student in Biophysics
• Location: University of Haifa, Israel. Hybrid and remote working is possible and welcomed
• Start Date: Flexible, depending on candidate availability

Key Research Areas:

• Mechanics of viral infections and antiviral strategies
• Cellular structures and the forces shaping them
• Biological membrane biophysics
• Data-driven modeling and simulations

Qualifications:

For Postdoctoral Researchers:

• PhD in Physics, Biophysics, Computational Biology, or a related field
• Familiarity with biological systems, polymer physics, or cellular mechanics is a plus
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or similar
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

For PhD Students:

• Master’s degree in Physics, Biophysics, Computational Biology, or related disciplines
• Interest in computational modeling, data analysis, and biological systems
• Programming experience (or willingness to learn) in Python or similar
• Motivation to work on challenging, interdisciplinary problems
