Research Assistant Electrophysiology

Novocure is a global publicly-traded commercial-stage oncology company developing a profoundly different cancer treatment therapy called tumor treating fields (TTFields) for patients with solid tumors. TTFields therapy is a non-invasive, novel, antimitotic treatment modality that utilizes proprietary technology attempting to slow or reverse tumor progression by inducing tumor cell death.

Novocure's commercialized product, Optune, is approved for the treatment of adult patients with glioblastoma (GBM) in the USA, Europe, and Israel.

Novocure has ongoing or completed clinical trials and is further expanding its efforts into several other solid tumor indications - non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, and other types of solid cancers.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Research assistant Electrophysiology to join our dynamic Innovation team.

In this role, you will contribute to preclinical research aimed at understanding the biological effects of TTFields therapy on cellular and tissue-level electrophysiological properties.

This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise in cell biology and electrophysiology techniques.

This full-time position is located in our R&D center, Haifa, Israel, and will be reported to the Senior Electrophysiology and Analysis Scientist.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performing electrophysiology experiments both in vitro and In-vivo
• Culture and maintain mammalian cell lines, primary cells, and organotypic tissue models
• Perform patch-clamp, extracellular recordings, or other electrophysiological assays to assess the effects of TTFields on cellular ion channels and neural activity
• Assist in designing and conducting experiments to investigate the biophysical and molecular mechanisms underlying TTFields
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation of experimental results in accordance with scientific standards
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including physicists, engineers, and biologists, to integrate findings into the broader research framework

• Knowledge:
• Possess basic knowledge in physiology/electrophysiology (academic or industry)
• Familiarity with cell cultures, molecular biology, and microscopy techniques -advantage
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
