Telecommunications Engineer - Wireless Network

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Telecommunications Engineer to oversee engineering reviews and design auditing in the field of rail telecommunications and LV engineering on behalf of the Client. This role will be part of the Blue Line LRT project in Jerusalem, with potential involvement in other future transportation projects in Israel.

Role Responsibilities:

Project-specific:

• Lead reviews of telecommunications, signaling, and radio systems designs on behalf of the State.
• Ensure the Project Company (PC) complies with its contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Audit and monitor the PC’s wireless telecoms network packages, including their integration with other subsystems.
• Work closely with the Cybersecurity Manager and Integration Manager to ensure seamless technical integration and compliance with security principles.
• Participate in internal Engineering Management Committee (EMC) meetings and engage with JTMT experts to ensure technical adherence and proper change management.
• Support proactive risk identification and mitigation in coordination with discipline experts.
• Participate in working groups and technical forums as required.

Role-specific:

• Conduct systematic auditing and monitoring of the PC’s engineering design for LV and telecom packages.
• Review key telecom engineering documents, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with vendors, construction companies, and subcontractors to promote quality and safety.
• Translate contractual and technical requirements into actionable insights.
• Ensure proper documentation and communication of project-related technical issues.

Skills & Qualifications Needed:

• An Engineering degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or Computer Networking.
• At least 7 years of experience in wireless network solutions, with 5+ years in railway projects, including one in the engineering and installation stage.
• Strong knowledge of rail industry standards and regulations, particularly open non-proprietary protocols (SNMP, Modbus, IEC 104, OPC UA).
• Experience working client-side (preferred).
• Strong commercial acumen and experience with change management.
• Familiarity with contracts and ability to extract technical and contractual requirements effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English (mandatory); Hebrew (preferred).
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to manage technical documentation methodically.
