Senior Data Scientist

Overview

We are a Data Science team within Microsoft’s Israel R&D Center , dedicated to pushing the boundaries of innovation through various AI system s and algorit hms designed fo r edge devices .

W e are currently seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a S enior Data Scientist with industrial experience in Lan guage models , AI Sec urity or Computer Vision.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in machine and deep learning, with a solid understanding of related theoretical fields and fluency in diverse algorithmic disciplines. Additionally, the candidate should have coding proficiency and a proven track record of developing AI innovations that lead to tangible outcomes .

In this role, you will play a crucial part in advancing the S O T A of AI on the ed ge and developing n ovel models and algorithms while deploying them on hardware with limited resources. This is a unique opportunity to work on exciting projects that will have a significant impact on the Microsoft AI ecosystem and the technology industry at large.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement models and al gorithms in diverse domain s , mainly Language Models, AI Security, or Computer Vision. Research the best practices in the field, staying up to date with the latest advancements.
• Collaborate with other data scientists and cross-functional teams to develop best-in-class solutions that lead to patents and/or academic publications, and successfully integrate these solutions into production.
• Preprocess and analyze diverse datasets to train and test models, ensuring data and model quality. Evaluate model performance through rigorous testing, validation, and analysis of results .
• Optimize models and algorithms for performance, scalability, and reliability on hardware with limited resources.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our AI capabilities and processes.
• Drive strategic initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Identify and propose innovative solutions to complex problems, leveraging your expertise and experience.
  

Qualifications

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Stron g multidisciplinary theoretical background in Machine and Deep Learning , and diverse algorithmic fields.
• 3+ years of professional experience as an algorithms ’ developer , data scientist , or applied researcher , preferably in the domains of C omputer V ision , Lan guage Models, or AI Sec urity .
• 3 + years of hands - on e xperience with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch , SciPy , cloud platforms , and generally coding in python.
• Demonstrated success in bringing innovative AI solutions from ideation to deployment , preferably on edge devices , including academic publications or patents.
• Communication skills for coordinating across teams a nd within o ur team, and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team , including mentoring junior team members and leading projects.
