Django / React (Full Stack Developer)

Spotter is a fast growing trucking startup based in the US. You will be working in a high energy environment with a diverse pool of co-workers from all around the world.

The Role

As the first step in our hiring process, you will receive 2 assessments to evaluate your skills.

First you will get an easier Front End assessment. Then if you pass that, you will receive a harder Back End assessment. Back End assessment will pay a bonus $100 and also land a spot for a final round interview if completed to satisfaction.

Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled Full Stack Developer with expertise in Django and React to join our dynamic remote team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the entire software development lifecycle, from concept and design through to implementation and optimization. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to create user-friendly, high-performance web applications that meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Development: Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Django for backend development and React for frontend development. Ensure that applications are performant, responsive, and accessible.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers and product managers, to translate business requirements into technical specifications. Engage in brainstorming sessions to contribute innovative ideas that enhance user experience.
• API Integration: Build and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services. Ensure seamless data flow between the frontend and backend systems.
• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices and industry standards. Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the quality and reliability of applications.
• Optimization: Monitor and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability. Implement performance enhancements and refactor code as necessary.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of code, processes, and technical specifications. Ensure that team members and stakeholders have the resources needed to understand and work with the codebase.
• Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends. Participate in team knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to the development of best practices within the team.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the team.
  
  

• Experience: Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of projects showcasing your skills in Django and React.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in Django and React.
• Experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote work environment.
• Adaptability: A proactive and self-motivated individual who can work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bonus Skills: Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.), knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines are a plus.
