Senior Python Backend Lead

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Backend Lead to join innovative team and build cutting-edge backend systems. This role offers the opportunity to design and implement clean, high-quality, scalable code for our brand-new backend platform. As a senior member, you'll drive the development of ETL pipelines and big data processing, leveraging public cloud and on-prem resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and develop high-performance, maintainable backend systems.
• Lead the design and implementation of ETL pipelines and other data workflows.
• Handle large-scale data processing across public cloud and on-prem environments.
• Take ownership of end-to-end solutions, from problem definition to product implementation.
• Conduct code and design reviews to ensure high standards of quality.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with researchers and teams to ensure business objectives and compliance standards are met.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Python backend development, full-stack, or data/ML engineering.
• 2+ years of experience working with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (Redis, etc.).
• 2+ years of experience with the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Spark, Hive, Iceberg).
• 2+ years of experience with data orchestration tools, such as Airflow.
• Strong experience in Linux server-side development.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Agile/Scrum methodology experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
