System Engineer

Nexite is a leading startup, revolutionizing retail IoT. We are developing a platform that merges the physical and digital retail spaces. Our innovative platform is based on cutting edge battery-less BLE tags that communicate with a cloud platform through an in-store wireless access network. Using our data and cloud platform, we can provide retailers with previously unattainable insights and analytics and at the same time vastly improve the customer experience.

We are looking for a dynamic and skilled System Engineer to be a key player in building and optimizing our systems. In this role, you’ll work on groundbreaking end-to-end solutions, from embedded devices to scalable cloud platforms, with a focus on system integration and performance optimization. Responsibilities:

• Innovative System Design and Seamless Integration
• Lead the design, development, and continuous enhancement of robust, end-to-end system solutions, from embedded hardware to scalable cloud platforms.
• Drive the integration of diverse system components, ensuring smooth communication and optimized performance across all layers of the stack.
• Coding for High-Impact Systems
• Use your Python expertise to build scalable and efficient solutions that power critical system features.
• Work closely with cross-functional software development teams to bring new system-level capabilities to life and troubleshoot issues across the stack.
• Database Mastery and SQL Optimization
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries to manage large-scale data and ensure high performance and reliability in database-driven systems.

Take ownership of database architecture and performance tuning, ensuring a secure and efficient data environment.

• Customer-Centric System Solutions
• Serve as a key technical liaison for customers, translating their needs into innovative system solutions.
• Collaborate with customers to understand their requirements and deliver tailored, technical solutions that exceed expectations.
• System Optimization and Cutting-Edge Troubleshooting
• Continuously analyze and optimize system performance, ensuring both embedded and cloud-based components run with maximum efficiency and reliability.

Leverage your troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex system-level issues, keeping critical services running smoothly.

Requirements

• Strong problem-solving skills with a logical mindset.
• Proficient in programming (Python, C/C++, Java).
• Solid SQL expertise and experience with database management (Big Query a plus).
• Hands-on experience with systems spanning embedded devices to cloud platforms.
• Proven ability in customer-facing roles, gathering requirements, and delivering solutions.
• Knowledge of embedded systems design and cloud computing.
• Familiar with system simulation and testing tools.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
