Director of Machine Learning

Machine Learning Technical Lead - Remote

We are seeking an experienced Machine Learning Technical Lead to join A2A team. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping the technical direction of our machine learning projects, including the dynamic pricing engine, transfer auto-planning system, and SkiBooker product. Additionally, you will oversee the talent selection and hiring process, mentor team members, and lead the successful implementation of innovative ML solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our machine-learning strategies align with business objectives and deliver measurable results.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the design development and deployment of machine learning models and systems.
• Define and implement best practices for machine learning development and deployment.
• Architect robust ML solutions that meet scalability, performance, and reliability requirements.
• Collaborate with data analytics, business controllers and product management to gather requirements and ensure successful project execution.
• Mentor and guide junior team members and outsourced resources in best practices for machine learning algorithms, data analysis, and software development.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
• Conduct experiments and evaluations to validate model performance and robustness.
• Facilitate code reviews and promote a culture of quality and innovation within the team.
• Present findings and project status updates to stakeholders and executive management.

Requirements

Hard Skills:

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
• Extensive experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Strong data manipulation and analysis skills using tools like Pandas, NumPy, or SQL.
• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, techniques, and statistical analysis.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with deployment platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
• Proven experience (5+ years) in machine learning, data science, or a related field.
• Prior experience in a leadership or mentoring role is highly desirable.
