Senior Python Backend Lead

R&D Department

We are looking for a talented Senior Python Backend Lead (100% hands-on) with a strong background in object-oriented, abstract big data and ETL pipelines to join our growing R&D department.

You will have a major role in the development and implementation of our new on-premises data ecosystem.

researchers' data acquisition, automated analysis, ML predictors, visualizations and many more complex challenges.

This is a senior position in our small Data Science group with big responsibility and influence – are you up to it?

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and implement clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code
• Define and implement ETL and other pipelines
• Big data processing, across public clouds and on-prem
• Capable of vertical work from problem definition to product implementation
• Conduct code and design reviews for other teammates
• Coordinate cross-functionally with researchers and teams to ensure projects meet business objectives and compliance standards

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

• B.Sc. in Computer Science
• A curious mind and a general technical can-do attitude
• 7 years of experience as a Python backend or full stack or data/ML engineer - Must
• 2 years of experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis or equivalent)
• 2 years of experience with Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Spark, Hive, Iceberg)
• 2 years of experience with data orchestration tools (Airflow)
• Linux server-side development
• Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Agile / Scrum native
• Excellent interpersonal skills, team player with strong communications skills
• Fluent written and spoken English is a must in an international company
