Assistant Controller

We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our finance team.

In this role, you will be a key player in overseeing the financial operations and accounting processes that support Mesh Payments’ core business. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency, playing a pivotal role in the company’s growth and success.

Our Finance department is responsible for clear visibility of the financials, and ensures efficiency in the execution of all things related to finance, accounting, and taxation.

The position requires a high level of responsibility, analytical thinking, criticism, and thoroughness.

What Will You Do:

• Assist in managing all aspects of financial accounting and reporting, ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and external regulations.
• Work with the finance team to analyze and interpret financial data, offering insights and recommendations to enhance business decision-making.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, Local & Global, including Revenue Recognition & Collection, Prepaid Fixed Assets, Cash flow management, and Compliance.
• Reconcile customers’s operational accounts while deriving insights.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to support the company’s needs
• Assisting in the preparation of tax reports and statutory financial statements across multiple regions and countries.
• Take part in monthly, quarterly, and annually closing processes and ensure the accuracy of financial records including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accruals, revenue recognition, payroll journal entries, and fixed assets
• Additional responsibilities for special projects as they arise.

What Should You Have

• Experience from a Big 5 firm- Must
• Experience working with Hi-tech (Fin-tech advantage)
• CPA license- Must
• Expertise with Excel – Must (Knowledge in Power Query / Power BI is an advantage)
• Knowledge in consolidation reports.
• Analytical ability to develop processes and implement improvements.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Understanding of both financial and operational controls.
• Excellent English skills - written and spoken - Must.
• Self-learning skills, independence, and ability to work with remote management (placed in Canada and the US)- Must
• Willingness to work unusual hours
