Java Technical Lead

BMC is looking for a Java Technical Leader to join our team, where you’ll work on complex, distributed software systems. In this role, you’ll develop and debug software products, implement new features, and contribute to maintaining top-notch product quality.

As a key contributor, you’ll bring a "Get it Done" and "Do it Right" attitude, along with a passion for innovation, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality solutions. Your expertise in backend development, multithreaded server environments, and modern web technologies will help drive success across our product lines.

You’ll play a pivotal role in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions while mentoring junior developers and collaborating across global teams.

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

• At least 10 years of Java development experience, including 5+ years as a backend tech lead.
• Hands-on experience in a multithreaded server-side environment.
• Proficiency in HTML, XML, JavaScript, Java Server Pages, Servlets, and Angular.
• Familiarity with databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, and Apache Derby.
• Experience with tools like Sonar for automated code reviews and a security-oriented mindset.
• Strong grasp of design patterns, object-oriented development, Spring Boot, REST APIs, unit testing, and web servers like Tomcat.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, OCP, GCP, or Azure (preferred but not required).
• Experience establishing development best practices such as code reviews, automation, and deployment standards.
• Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
