Senior Bookkeeper & Assistant Controller

THE ROLE

We are looking for a dedicated Senior Bookkeeper & Assistant Controller to join our finance team, reporting directly to the Director of Finance. The ideal candidate is proactive, reliable, and independent, with strong analytical, technological skills. A commitment to delivering high-quality work and a positive, can-do attitude are essential for success in this role.

You should have at least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.

This is a full-time position, offering a hybrid work model: 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home.

Responsibilities 

• Managing all aspects of the bookkeeping/general ledger, including:
• Accurate recording and categorization of financial transactions.
• Detailed reconciliations of bank accounts, preparation of adjusting journal entries.
• Responsibilities for tracking expenses.
• Generating detailed reports to support internal analysis and external audits.
• Implementing  and maintaining internal controls.
• Delivering detailed monthly analysis to inform decision-making.
• Collaborating with external and payroll accountants to maintain accurate records.
• Staying up to date on financial regulations and implementing new accounting policies.
• Providing support for ad hoc tasks and projects within the finance department

Requirements 

• At least 5 years’ experience in accounting (CPA preferred).
• Highly skilled in accounting, and financial processes.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations.
• Detail oriented and highly organized.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Experience in an eCommerce consumer goods company - Advantage.
