Financial Controller

One of my clients – high-tech company with a SaaS product for the enterprise market – is looking for an experienced Financial Controller.

The company is private, with approximately 250 employees, and has subsidiaries worldwide.

Responsibilities:

• Accounting Oversight: Overall accountability for all accounting-related matters within the department, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
• Monthly Close & Financial Statements: Lead the monthly closing process and preparation of consolidated financial statements, including revenue recognition and relevant working papers.
• Global Tax & Compliance: Manage subsidiaries' annual tax returns, statutory reporting requirements, and ongoing compliance globally.
• Audit & External Relations: Collaborate with external auditors and advisors on audit, accounting, and related matters.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the annual budgeting process and quarterly re-forecasting, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Quality Control: Ensure the integrity and quality control of financial transactions and reporting.
• Process Optimization & Automation: Lead the automation and efficiency improvements of financial processes and systems.
• Global Expansion: Support the company’s global expansion by implementing financial procedures in accordance with company standards.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Proactively interact with internal business units and lead cross-company financial initiatives.
• Ad-Hoc Projects: Provide support for special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
• Experience at a Big 4 Firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY, or KPMG)
• Experience in the high-tech industry, particularly within companies offering SaaS (Software as a Service) products.
• Previous experience as a Controller or senior accounting role in a global SaaS company is essential.
• Experience managing stock option-related accounting is an advantage.
• Deep hands-on experience with accounting processes and a strong understanding of US GAAP, particularly ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers).
• Proven experience working with subsidiaries and preparing consolidated financial statements.
