QA SW Engineer

Nexite is a leading startup, revolutionizing retail IoT. We are developing a platform that merges the physical and digital retail spaces. Our innovative platform is based on cutting edge battery-less BLE tags that communicate with a cloud platform through an in-store wireless access network. Using our data and cloud platform, we can provide retailers with previously unattainable insights and analytics and at the same time vastly improve the customer experience.

We are seeking a highly skilled QA Engineer to join our team and ensure the highest quality standards for our complex web applications built on a microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both manual and automated testing, with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive test strategies that balance effort and efficiency across both approaches. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to validate UI, API, and end-to-end (E2E) functionality, ensuring a seamless user experience across our distributed systems.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement test strategies that optimize the balance between manual and automated testing, ensuring efficient validation of releases.
• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for UI, API, and E2E testing to achieve comprehensive test coverage across all microservices.
• Perform exploratory, functional, regression, and performance testing to identify issues early in the release process.
• Develop and maintain automated e2e test suites using Playwright and similar tools
• Integrate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, ensuring continuous validation.
• Identify and resolve automation bottlenecks and improve test efficiency.
• Create, review, and maintain detailed, reusable, and well-structured test plans and test cases using test management tools.
• Track and document test results, report defects effectively, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
• Contribute to release planning and provide quality metrics and reports to stakeholders.
• Advocate for quality best practices, driving improvements in testing efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability.
• Evaluate and adopt new testing frameworks, tools, and methodologies to enhance the QA process.
  
  

• 4+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on testing web applications and microservices.
• Proficiency in manual testing techniques, including exploratory, UI, and regression testing.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks for UI and API testing, such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman.
• Strong knowledge of API testing methodologies, including RESTful API validation and contract testing.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build processes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficient in writing SQL queries to validate data integrity across services.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and a keen product understanding.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work in an agile development environment.
