The Staff Accountant will play a vital role in the accounting and financial operations of a fast-paced and rapidly growing SaaS company. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a desire to grow their career in a dynamic, tech-driven environment. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure accurate and efficient financial processes while supporting the company’s growth.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting Operations:

• Record daily accounting transactions, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Perform reconciliations for key accounts, including bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain and organize accounting records and documentation in compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
  
  

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

• Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate coding and approval.
• Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable balances monthly.
• Assist with collections on outstanding accounts and respond to customer or vendor inquiries.
• Support AP and AR automation initiatives.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting and auditing standards, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.
  
  

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Support the preparation of schedules and documentation for audits and tax filings.
• Help track and report on SaaS-specific metrics such as MRR, churn, and deferred revenue.
  
  

Compliance & Internal Controls:

• Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with audit requests by preparing schedules and gathering documentation as needed.
  
  

Process Improvement:

• Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient accounting processes.
• Identify opportunities for automation and collaborate with the team to improve workflows.
• Support system integrations and upgrades for accounting tools and software.
  
  

Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment; experience in public accounting or supporting audits is a plus.
• Proficiency in accounting systems such as Sage and tools like Ramp or Brex is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, with the ability to handle large datasets and use pivot tables.
