Full Stack Engineer

Mission

lakeFS is an open source project that provides the object storage a manageability layer with version control capabilities such as branching, committing, merging and using pre-commit and pre-merge hooks. This allows data engineers to manage the data lake securely, just like the code repository they manage. We are on a mission to simplify the lives of engineers building data-intensive applications.

We’re looking for a Fullstack Engineer to join our team and help make lakeFS even more powerful.

What you'll do

BUILD OUR PRODUCT

We maintain our infrastructure as code, build backend services based on cloud-native open-source technologies, and create an engaging UI to help our customers make the most of our products. We actively seek customer feedback to drive product decisions while fostering and supporting our fast-growing open-source community. 

We use a wide range of languages and tools: a backend written in Go, plugins for data engineering written in Scala, Python, and Java, a React UI, and cloud-native infrastructure tools like k8s, terraform, and argocd. We use existing technologies, including OpenAPI, RocksDB, Apache Spark, DynamoDB, and CosmosDB, wherever it makes sense. When needed, we develop new technologies, such as Graveler, that differentiate our core platform. Our multi-cloud SaaS offering spans all three major cloud providers, offering the open-source core with paid features. It scales to billions of daily API calls while responding within milliseconds. 

As a Fullstack Engineer at Treeverse, you’ll be in charge of the design & development of end-to-end features across three products: lakeFS OSS, Enterprise, and Cloud.

Qualifications

If you’re passionate about building powerful dev tools that will disrupt the world of Data & AI – you belong with us.

• Proven experience (+3 years) with web technologies (preferably React)
• Strong foundation in application design and engineering practices, like building maintainable, reusable frontend components or developing REST endpoints.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and basic system design principles.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to handling challenges.
• Ability to work in an agile, fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Degree in computer science - a plus.
