Principal Devops Engineer

What are we looking for?

We’re seeking a hands-on Principal DevOps Engineer to lead our DevOps initiatives. As a foundational member of our team, you will be the backbone of our engineering department - ensuring our infrastructure is scalable, secure, and efficient. This role demands deep technical expertise, a proactive mindset, and a passion for building robust systems.

About the role:

• Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, AI and product teams to support the execution of the product roadmap.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline code deployment and ensure reliability.
• Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure to ensure uptime and performance.
• Own and enhance the system observability stack (monitoring, logging, and alerting).
• Champion best practices for security, cost optimization, and disaster recovery in cloud environments.
• Act as a mentor and technical leader, driving DevOps culture and advocating for automation and efficiency.
• Contribute to improving team workflows and system designs to meet high-scale system requirements.

Technical Requirements:

• AWS expertise: Hands-on experience with the full AWS stack, including VPCs, security groups, ECS, ECR, EC2, RDS, S3, and Lambda.
• Proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform for managing cloud infrastructure.
• Strong experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Github Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Programming experience in Python and Node.js and acquaintance with their EcoSystem. 
• Deep understanding of Linux systems and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience managing large-scale, high-availability environments.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar for automation.
• Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar.
• Familiarity with security best practices, including IAM, role-based access, and cloud networking.
• Proven ability to work in agile environments and handle shifting priorities.

• 7+ years of hands-on experience as DevOps in a fast paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to design and maintain secure, scalable cloud architectures.
• Strong self-management and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
