Position Overview:

We are looking for a Director of Philanthropic Engagement and Strategic Partnerships to drive outreach to prospective clients, manage fundholders, and build strategic relationships with foundations and private donors. This individual will play a pivotal role in promoting our grant payments product and donor-advised fund, while fostering meaningful partnerships that enhance our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Outreach to Foundations:

• Identify and engage with foundations to promote our grant payments and cross-border giving services.
• Develop tailored outreach strategies to demonstrate how our solutions enhance efficiency and compliance in grantmaking.

2. Donor Engagement and Fundholder Management:

• Oversee relationships with current fundholders in the donor-advised fund, ensuring their philanthropic goals are met.
• Attract new private donors to the fund through strategic, personalized outreach, and in mass marketing efforts in co-ordination with our marketing team.

3. Business Development Across Sectors:

• Develop relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporate giving programs, and institutional foundations.
• Utilize data insights to prioritize and target prospective clients.

4. Collaboration with Marketing and Internal Teams:

• Partner with marketing to create campaigns and materials that resonate with foundation leaders and private donors.
• Provide feedback to product development teams to refine and enhance offerings.

5. Client Relationship Management:

• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering guidance on optimizing their giving strategies through our products.
• Represent the company at industry events, building networks and partnerships.

6. Operational Oversight:

• Manage donor-advised fund and grant payments operations to ensure seamless execution and compliance.
• Monitor and report on performance metrics to fundholders and foundations.

7. Performance Tracking and Growth:

• Set and achieve ambitious client acquisition and retention goals.
• Analyze engagement metrics to refine strategies and report progress to leadership.

Qualifications:

1. Philanthropy and Nonprofit Expertise:

• Strong understanding of foundation operations and fundraising.
• Experience with donor-advised funds or similar philanthropic financial products.

2. Strategic Outreach and Partnership Development:

• Proven skills in prospecting, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to craft and execute effective outreach strategies tailored to various audiences.

3. Communication and Presentation Skills:

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to present complex concepts in an accessible and persuasive manner.

4. Operational and Technical Acumen:

• Familiarity with compliance and operational aspects of philanthropic transactions.
• Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and donor management tools.

Ideal Candidate Background:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Philanthropy, or related field.
• Experience:
• 5+ years in donor engagement, foundation outreach, or philanthropy-focused business development.
• Proven track record of managing relationships with both foundations and individual donors.
• Soft Skills: Strategic thinker, organized, and passionate about advancing impactful philanthropy.
