Seeking: Full-Time Entry Level Engineer

Location: Israel & West Bank (Travel required, including possible international travel)

Languages: Arabic & Hebrew fluency, English proficiency

Responsibilities:

Operations & Maintenance:

▪ Oversee all operational aspects of decentralized technologies such as solar, desalination, biogas, and

off-grid wastewater treatment systems ensuring smooth functionality and reliability.

▪ Take responsibility for all projects, including independently repairing, replacing and troubleshooting

issues onsite

▪ Conduct and facilitate routine water quality tests

Database Collection & Management:

▪ Build and maintain an online water quality database to monitor system performance and ensure

compliance with standards.

▪ As required conduct soil quality analysis and crop growth analysis

Training and Support:

▪ Provide software training for remote monitoring systems to users and stakeholders.

▪ Instruct on-the-ground personnel how to maintain the system effectively.

Travel:

▪ Travel across Israel and the West Bank to maintain the upkeep of systems installed at various locations.

▪ Candidate must be willing to travel internationally as required

Basic Skills:

▪ Apply plumbing and electrical skills as needed for system maintenance and repairs.

▪ Data gathering, monitoring, reporting and analysis

Requirements:

▪ University degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

▪ Demonstrated field experience in operations, maintenance, and project management.

▪ Excellent communication skills and ability to teach and mentor others.

▪ Familiarity with remote monitoring systems and relevant software.

▪ Fluency in Arabic and Hebrew, English proficiency are required

▪ Comfortable with extensive travel within Israel and the West Bank

▪ Ability to work independently and as part of a team

▪ Must have valid driver’s license and access to a car

Partnering with the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies:

This full-time position will be split between Laguna Innovation-specific projects and those of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies (www.arava.org) as part of its work in the Center for Applied Environmental Diplomacy. The candidate should be prepared to work with decentralized solar, desalination, biogas, and wastewater treatment systems.
