Responsibilities
MaxLinear is seeking a Senior IT Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will focus on the following:
- Deliver technical support on-site and via remote-access systems, with a dedicated focus on providing prompt and efficient service to all users
- Provide expert assistance in diagnosing and repairing hardware malfunctions, software issues, and networking problems
- Propose and implement solutions that meet the expectations and requirements of end-users
- Configure and troubleshoot issues with hosted and cloud-based applications
- Accurately install and configure computer systems for end users, ensuring seamless integration into the company's IT infrastructure
- Facilitate employee onboarding activities, including equipment configuration, software installation, email setup, account and access rights allocation, office access provision, and hardware deployment for new hires
- Maintain and support critical IT infrastructure components such as office file servers, server rooms, office networks, and shared equipment
- Take ownership of escalated issues, driving them to resolution with a proactive approach
- Oversee the return of company assets and manage account transitions for departing employees
- Efficiently track and manage support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and documentation
- Keep an accurate and up-to-date inventory of assets and software
- Maintain exemplary relations with end-users and colleagues, fostering a collaborative environment
- Occasional need for late nights and weekend hours
- The position may involve lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Experience with the Microsoft Windows 10+/M365 ecosystem
- Experience in Active Directory administration
- Experience with M365 administration
- Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP
- Experience in PC repair & troubleshooting
- Experience with remote troubleshooting using tools like TeamViewer or BeyondTrust Remote support
- Experience working with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, FreshService
- Experience with virtualization technology, including Microsoft, VMWARE, Proxmox, Nutanix
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- Familiarity with deployment and management solutions such as MDT, WDS, SCCM, Autopilot, or Intune
- Experience in supporting and troubleshooting various Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat)
- BS in Computer Science or related + 3 years of experience, or equivalent
