Psychosocial specialist in Arabic (m/f/d)

OlamAid is a humanitarian aid organization that supports people in crisis and conflict areas in Germany and internationally. Our mission is to promote resilient and self-sustaining communities.

For our project “MHPSS Middle East – Trauma reduction for vulnerable groups in Israel” we are looking for a professional for 10 hours per week to provide psychosocial support, MHPSS trainings and supervision for psychosocial experts working with Arabic speaking communities in Israel. This is a temporary position until 31.12.2025 with the prospect of an extension for a further year.

Tasks

• Psychosocial support for psychosocial experts and staff in educational residences or an OlamAid resilience center through individual supervision and support as well as group trainings and support sessions.
• Close cooperation with the respective institutions and locations
• Documentation and evaluation
• Participation in project team meetings and overall team meetings
• Close cooperation with the project coordinators
• Exchange and consultation with the organization's professional circles
  
  

• Professional training: therapists, psychologists, social workers, music/theater/art therapists, etc.
• Knowledge of trauma-related disorders, especially post-traumatic stress disorder and depression
• Experience in providing supervision and training in mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS)
• Arabic and Hebrew on a business fluent basis
• Fluent in English
• Experience in working in a humanitarian context is an advantage
• Ability to work in a team, close cooperation with the project teams
• High degree of independence, structured way of working, reliability, as well as great interest in working in a multicultural setting
• Willingness to work in a volatile context
