About the Project
The Global Water Scarcity Project combines cutting-edge data science, real-time analytics, and historical insights to address one of the most pressing global challenges: water scarcity. Through big data integration, AI modeling, and predictive analytics, the project seeks to design adaptive frameworks for sustainable water management across diverse regions worldwide. This initiative is a collaborative effort between BIDR, Arizona State University and the Max Planck Institute of Geoanthropology, offering an exciting opportunity to make a global impact through data-driven solutions.
Role Description
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher with expertise in data science, analytics, and integration to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time hybrid role, based on the Sde Boqer Campus with flexible remote work options.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Israel. Work visas can be arranged for candidates from countries with which Israel has a visa agreement. If you're unsure about your eligibility, please check your country's visa status with Israeli immigration authorities before applying.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data pipelines to process and integrate large environmental datasets.
- Develop and apply predictive models and analytics tools for water resource management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, contributing to research publications and actionable insights.
- Work with cloud-based platforms, AI tools, and advanced statistical frameworks to extract meaningful trends from complex datasets.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing and collaborative problem-solving across partner institutions.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Environmental Informatics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in data integration, analysis, and visualization tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
- Experience with machine learning algorithms, AI modeling, or advanced statistical analysis is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with geospatial analysis, GIS tools, or environmental datasets is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary setting.
