Job Overview:

GreenRoad is seeking a skilled Product Designer with both UI and UX capabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for creating intuitive, user-centered experiences that enhance the safety and effectiveness of our driver safety and fleet management platforms. You will focus on both web and mobile platforms, designing seamless and engaging user interfaces and experiences that drive safer driving behaviors and reduce accidents.

As a Product Designer at GreenRoad, you will play a key role in the design process from research to implementation. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers & engineers to build solutions that make driving safer and easier for our users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design for Safety: Create intuitive, user-friendly designs for both web and mobile platforms that prioritize safety and simplicity, helping users to adopt safer driving behaviors.
• End-to-End Design Process: Lead the design process from research and ideation to final implementation. This includes wireframing, prototyping, high-fidelity design, user testing, and collaborating with engineers to ensure high-quality execution.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to define product requirements, align on user needs, and deliver user-centric solutions that meet both business goals and technical feasibility.
• User Research & Insights: Conduct user research (e.g., user interviews, surveys, usability tests) to uncover user needs, behaviors, and pain points. Synthesize research insights into actionable design solutions.
• Prototyping & Testing: Create interactive prototypes and conduct usability testing to validate design concepts. Iterate designs based on user feedback to improve usability and safety outcomes.
• Design Systems & Standards: Contribute to the development and maintenance of a design system that ensures consistency and scalability across GreenRoad’s product offerings. Advocate for design best practices and high UI/UX standards.
• Innovation & Strategy: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products. Contribute to the long-term design strategy and work to enhance product features and user experience.

Must Have Requirements:

• Experience: Min. 5 years of experience in product design, with a portfolio demonstrating both UI and UX design skills across web and mobile platforms.
• Strong Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design work, including web and mobile projects. You should be able to demonstrate your design thinking process, with examples of how you solved complex user problems effectively.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
• Strong understanding of user research, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and high-fidelity design.
• Expertise in designing UI and UX for both web and mobile platforms, including interaction design, visual design, and information architecture.
• Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex challenges and translate them into simple, intuitive designs for web and mobile.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and present design solutions to non-design stakeholders.
• Passion for Safety & Impact: A genuine passion for designing products that improve road safety, save lives, and reduce accidents. Understanding how design can influence user behavior in high-risk environments.
• Native English Proficiency: Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate design ideas clearly and effectively in a cross-functional, global environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Mapping Solutions: Experience designing applications or features that incorporate mapping or geolocation data. Familiarity with presenting maps and location-based data in user-friendly ways.
• Design System Experience: Experience in building, maintaining, or contributing to a design system that supports scalable and consistent design solutions.
• Experience in Transportation/Automotive Industry: Familiarity with the transportation, fleet management, or automotive industries, especially in relation to driver safety.
• Accessibility Expertise: Understanding of accessibility standards and designing inclusive, user-friendly experiences for all users, regardless of ability.
• Experience with Safety-Centric Products: Prior experience designing products or features focused on safety, wellness, or health, especially in high-risk environments.
