Process Operator for Laboratory and Pilot Plant

Overview:

Plastic Back, a startup company in the field of chemical recycling of PVC, is seeking an experienced Process Operator to work in a laboratory, assist with commissioning a pilot plant in Israel, and train oprational tean in the USA. The role includes involvement in innovative chemical recycling processes, conducting laboratory work to study recycling processes, practical training on process systems, and leading the operation of a pilot plant to be built in Israel and sent to the USA.

Responsibilities:

1. Laboratory Phase:

• Conduct practical experiments related to the recycling process in the laboratory.

• Monitor chemical processes and operate systems related to recycling.

• Document and analyze experiment results.

• Work closely with chemists and engineers to understand the system and processes.

2. Pilot Plant Commissioning Phase:

• Operate the pilot plant in Israel at the contractor’s site.

• Perform daily equipment operations, including monitoring, testing, and basic repairs when necessary.

• Oversee the operation of the pilot plant at the client’s site in the USA for several weeks.

3. Ongoing Maintenance:

• Conduct preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting for mechanical and electrical systems.

• Adhere to operational and safety procedures.

Requirements:

1. Professional Experience:

• Experience with process equipment in laboratories, pilot plants, or the chemical industry (experience with chemicals/heating and cooling systems is required).

• Advantage: Experience in commissioning new systems or operating industrial facilities.

2. Technical Skills:

• Basic understanding of process systems.

• Familiarity with computerized control systems (PLC/HMI) is an advantage.

3. Personal Skills:

• Quick learning ability and adaptability in dynamic environments.

• Proactive approach and real-time problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team.

4. Languages:

• Native-level Hebrew.

• Basic English for reading technical documents is mandatory.

5. Willingness to Travel:

• Required to work in the laboratory and travel to the USA for plant commissioning and training local staff.
