Communications Specialist

A Communication Specialist is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and upgrading of Cisco switches and Fortinet cybersecurity solutions. The role includes responsibility for network infrastructure, troubleshooting, and collaboration with IT and cybersecurity teams within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Management and operation of Cisco switches (Catalyst, Nexus) including architecture planning and upgrades.
• Maintenance and configuration of Fortinet cybersecurity solutions, such as:
• FortiGate Firewalls: Configuring rules, VPN, NAT.
• FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.
• Design, implementation, and management of VLANs, STP, QoS, and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
• Advanced network troubleshooting and monitoring using tools such as SolarWinds and Cisco Prime.
• Configuration of VPN connections (Site-to-Site, SSL VPN) integrating Fortinet and network equipment.
• Work with routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP) and other protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Implementation and improvement of information security policies in the organization according to standards.
• Participation in technological projects to upgrade network infrastructure and security.

Professional Experience:

• 1-2 years of experience working with Cisco switches in a business environment.
• 1-2 years of experience in the operation and implementation of Fortinet solutions (FortiGate, FortiManager).

Technical Knowledge Required:

• Proficiency in Cisco CLI: configuring switches, troubleshooting, and managing Layer 2/3 infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of communication protocols: VLAN, STP, HSRP, VRRP.
• Knowledge of Fortinet Firewall management, including configuration, log analysis, and troubleshooting.

Advantages:

• CCNA/CCNP and Fortinet NSE 4/5 certifications.
• Experience with troubleshooting tools like Wireshark.
• Experience with automation tools (Python, Ansible).
• High proficiency in English – reading, writing, and speaking.
