Software Director for AI Engineering group

Mobileye is seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Manager to lead the development and growth of our cutting-edge Data Platform team. In this role, you will oversee a group of talented professionals working on high-impact projects that enable the organization to harness and process vast amounts of data for the development of our products. You will play a pivotal role in defining strategy, mentoring leaders, and ensuring the delivery of scalable, innovative platform for Mobileye’s developers.

What will your job look like?

• Own the platform: build a self-service data platform to serve Mobileye’s developers, to build their own data pipelines, managing the outputs and extract insights.
• Lead & Inspire: Manage and mentor multiple teams (20-25 engineers,BE, FE, DevOps), fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Strategic Planning: Define the roadmap for the data platform, set objectives, and prioritize initiatives to align with organizational goals.
• Technical Oversight: Guide the design and development of a multi-service, cloud-based, big-data platform leveraging modern technologies such as Athena, Spark, AWS S3, and more.
• Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, AI/ML teams, and other R&D groups to define and deliver features and capabilities that meet organizational needs.
• Hands-On Involvement: Maintain a technical edge with hands-on contributions, such as conducting design reviews, code reviews, and ensuring best practices.
• Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively, identify risks, and mitigate bottlenecks to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
• Continuous Improvement: Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to ensure the platform remains state-of-the-art.
  
  

• Leadership Experience: 5+ years of experience in managing engineering teams, including leading cross-functional groups and mentoring team leads.
• Technical Expertise:
• Strong background in software development (Python preferred).
• Proven experience with backend frameworks (Django, Flask, or similar).
• Hands-on experience with big data frameworks like Spark, Presto, or Athena.
• Knowledge of containerized services and efficient data modeling for relational and schema-less databases.
• Cloud Experience: Familiarity with AWS and scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Big Picture Thinking: Ability to balance short-term execution with long-term strategy, ensuring alignment with Mobileye’s vision.
• Problem-Solving Skills: A proven track record of delivering solutions for complex technical challenges.
• Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate and collaborate across teams and departments.

• Familiarity withbuilding a self-service platform, adopted in large organization.
