Legal Engineer

About the Role

Chamelio is seeking a Legal Engineer to join us in developing innovative legal technology solutions for in-house legal departments. You'll work at the intersection of law and technology, collaborating with ML engineers, AI researchers, and product managers to create cutting-edge legal AI products. We're looking for someone passionate about legal AI who wants to help shape the future of legal practice. Your legal expertise and creative thinking will be crucial in enhancing our products and delivering value to our customers.

• Apply your legal knowledge to test, improve, and refine product features and research initiatives
• Annotate and label legal data for AI model development
• Assist with onboarding and supporting our global customer base
• Stay informed about new developments in AI applications for the legal sector, including large language models
• Provide product feedback as part of a cross-functional team
  

• Law degree and a license to practice law
• 2-4 years of experience drafting, reviewing and editing complex commercial contracts in a law firm or in-house setting
• Strong understanding of commercial contract clauses (e.g., indemnification, IP, liability limitations, force majeure, dispute resolution)
• Interest in legal technology and AI-driven solutions
• Ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines
• Willingness to own projects, such as managing data labeling, evaluating AI outputs, and analyzing large document sets
• Keen interest in learning about ML models, prompt engineering, and LLMs
• Detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative
• Full professional proficiency in English is essential, as all work will be conducted in English
