About the Position

As a Junior Security Specialist, you will contribute to the development and delivery of IT security and governance solutions. This hybrid role blends technical IT security work with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) activities, providing you with a broad understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, compliance requirements, and technical defenses. You'll work with clients to strengthen their security posture while supporting risk management and compliance initiatives.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a junior professional to build expertise across both technical security and GRC domains while working in a dynamic environment alongside industry experts on diverse, challenging projects. Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and maintaining IT security solutions, including endpoint security, SaaS security, network defense, and threat detection tools.
• Conduct security assessments and provide recommendations to improve clients’ technical security posture.
• Configure and customize open-source and commercial security tools to meet client requirements.
• Stay informed about emerging security technologies and threats, ensuring recommendations are aligned with industry best practices.
• Support the development of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls aligned with industry standards (e.g. ISO 27001, Protection of Privacy Regulations etc.).
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and gaps in compliance.
• Help clients prepare for audits and maintain compliance documentation.
• Assist in training clients’ teams on cybersecurity policies and best practices.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in IT or security roles such as Tier 1/2 SOC Analyst, security operations, or IT system administration.
• Basic scripting knowledge (e.g. Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automating tasks or analyzing data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex security concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with endpoint security, SaaS security, and network security tools (e.g. MDM, EDR, firewalls, SIEM, DLP) - advantage.

• Experience working with open-source security tools like Wazuh, Suricata, or OpenVAS - advantage.
