Call for Applications: Postdoctoral Researcher for Advanced VR-based Diagnostic Development

Project Title: Development of a Portable VR-based Diagnostic Device  for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

Project Overview:

This groundbreaking two-year project aims to develop a portable, VR-based device for accurate and sensitive diagnosis and monitoring of traumatic brain injury (TBI). The project integrates advanced pupillometry technology and immersive virtual reality (VR) systems to achieve unprecedented diagnostic capabilities in both clinical and field settings.

Role:

We are seeking a highly qualified postdoctoral fellow to serve as the lead researcher for our project. The fellow will take the lead in developing and validating a VR-based diagnostic platform, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams from Sheba Medical Center and Reichman University. Key responsibilities include designing prototypes, developing testing protocols, and analyzing outcomes in both clinical and field environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine the VR prototype.
• Conduct testing with healthy adults and patients with TBI.
• Analyze diagnostic accuracy and refine biomarker identification.
• Collaborate with clinical and technical teams to ensure project milestones are met.
• Publish findings in high-impact journals and present at conferences.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in VR/AR technologies, eye-tracking systems, or optical diagnostics.
• Experience in clinical trial design and data analysis.
• Strong programming skills (Unity 3D, Python, or MATLAB preferred).
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Advantages:

• Experience in pupillometry or retinal ganglion cell research.
• Familiarity with FDA/EMA regulatory processes for medical devices.
• Proven track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
