Observability Engineer

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Observability Engineer to join our development team.

This role is critical to ensuring the reliability and maintainability of our products by designing, implementing, and refining

observability solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a deep understanding of product workflows, and the ability to identify and mitigate potential issues effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Log Management and Design:
• Define and describe the log format for our product to ensure consistency and usability.
• Collaborate with development teams to incorporate structured and meaningful logging.
• Business and Technical Flow Understanding:
• Gain a deep understanding of the product's business and technical workflows.
• Build and analyze scenarios for potential issues, identifying tactics to detect and trace root causes.
• Collaboration with Customer Teams:
• Work closely with customer teams, including Monitoring and Security, to align observability
  
  

solutions with their requirements.

• Ensure compliance with customer-defined standards for monitoring, NOC (Level 1), Level 2 support,
  
  

and security compliance.

• Act as a liaison between the customer and internal teams to implement necessary actions and
  
  

maintain alignment.

• Alerting and Monitoring:
• Create and implement alerts and dashboards using log analytics platforms such as Elastic and
  
  

Splunk.

• Align observability tools with business requirements and use cases.
• Continuously refine alerts to minimize false positives and false negatives.
• Issue Investigation and Support:
• Collaborate with the support team to investigate and resolve issues.
• Utilize insights from logs and dashboards to identify areas for improvement.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Iterate on observability processes based on operational feedback and real-world scenarios.
• Stay updated on best practices and emerging technologies in observability.
  
  

Requirements:

Splunk:

Proved experience in Splunk with observability use cases – Searching, Alerting and Dashboards

 Cloud Platforms: Beginner-level experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.

 Linux and Networking: Strong skills in Linux systems and network troubleshooting.

 Programming Languages: Beginner-level knowledge of Python or Node.js.

 Microservices & Serverless Architectures: Familiarity with Kubernetes and serverless technologies.

 APIs & RESTful Services: Proven experience working with APIs and RESTful services.

 Observability Techniques: Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing the three pillars of

observability (traces, metrics, logs).

 English Proficiency: Strong technical communication skills in English are essential.
