Principal Backend Engineer

FundGuard is seeking a talented Principal Platform Engineer to join our team. As a Principal Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the core infrastructure that powers our financial technology platform. You will work closely with other engineers to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of our platform.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and design the core infrastructure of our financial technology platform
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers in building and maintaining the platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the platform meets the business requirements
• Implement best practices for scalability, reliability, and performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  
  

Requirements:

• 6+ years of relevant work experience with big-data pipeline technologies such as Kafka.
• Extensive experience in OOP (Java)
• Extensive experience working with Relational and Non-Relational DBs
• Extensive experience working with key-value storage and cache
• Experience with large, distributed information systems, building, and scaling data pipelines
• Experience working with Kubernetes and Dockers
• Strong passion for details and tackling complex tasks.
• Team player, fast learner, and has a “get things done” attitude.
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
• Computer science degree from a leading university and/or technological units graduate

• Experience working with Spark and its Ecosystem
• Financial understanding
• Operational, systems, and networking knowledge
