As the new Head of Artificial Intelligence at Knostic, you will be at the forefront of advancing AI and NLP technologies and strategies in a way that maintains security and integrates seamlessly within the enterprise environment.  In this pivotal role, you will spearhead efforts to innovate and implement solutions that accurately assess and ensure the appropriateness of LLM responses based on user-specific need-to-know criteria.

Hands-on Innovation

• Oversee the design and implementation of algorithms that evaluate the appropriateness of LLM responses.
• Suggest innovative methods to understand and interpret the context of textual data for sensitivity analysis.
• Design AI solutions with efficiency, scalability, and performance in mind.
• Engage in hands-on AI development and research to drive innovation and maintain technical excellence.

Leadership & Strategy

• Be a source of knowledge and innovation for the company and drive research into new fields associated with Knostic's goals in LLM security.
• Drive innovation by leading, mentoring, and expanding a team of AI researchers and ML engineers.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment, promoting a “can do” attitude.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions seamlessly into existing platforms.

Project Management

• Manage AI projects from conception through deployment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Lead initiatives to transition AI research from Proof of Concept (POC) to full-scale production, ensuring robust and scalable implementations.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI systems, implementing improvements as necessary.
• Maintain organized project documentation and workflows to ensure efficiency and clarity.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Communicate complex AI concepts and project statuses to non-technical stakeholders with clarity and precision.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and LLM security to keep Knostic at the forefront of the industry.
• Represent the AI team in executive meetings and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field is required.

Experience

• Minimum of 7 years in AI research and development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of developing and deploying AI models in production environments, particularly in NLP and LLMs.
• Demonstrated experience in taking AI research projects from Proof of Concept (POC) through to full-scale production deployment.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing MLOps data pipelines that securely handle production customer data for analysis, model retraining, and fine-tuning.

Technical Skills

• Understanding of Deep Learning, Transformer Architecture, and LLM training and fine-tuning techniques like LoRA, Quantization, MoE.
• Expertise in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
• Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with the LLMOps domain: LangChain, CrewAI, HuggingFace, etc.
• Understanding of LLM application optimization techniques, including Quantization, Prompt Engineering, and Model Distillation.
• Proven ability to perform hands-on AI research and development.

Analytical Skills

• Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative AI-driven solutions.
• Proficient in data analysis, model evaluation, and performance tuning.

• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Highly organized and self-driven, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Experience with AI security and privacy-preserving techniques.
• Knowledge of real-time data processing and streaming technologies.
• Experience with on-premises deployments and handling sensitive customer data, including training models on data that remains within customer premises.

Educational Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.

Industry Experience

• Background in cybersecurity, especially related to AI and machine learning applications.
• Previous experience in a startup environment or fast-paced tech company.

Research Contributions

• Publications in reputable AI and machine learning conferences or journals.
• Active participation in the AI research community, including conferences and workshops.

Advanced Certifications

• Certifications in AI, machine learning, or related fields from recognized institutions.
• Multilingual Abilities
• Proficiency in multiple languages to enhance model sensitivity and contextual understanding across diverse user bases.
