Role Overview

As a Web Designer at The Young Developer, you will be responsible for designing and creating an intuitive, user-friendly website that aligns with our mission of helping young people succeed in the world of programming. You will work closely with the development and content teams to ensure that the website is visually appealing, easy to navigate, and optimized for performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain a modern and responsive website.
• Collaborate with the team to develop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
• Create visually engaging graphics, layouts, and other visual assets.
• Optimize the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) for an easy-to-navigate platform.
• Ensure the website is mobile-friendly and cross-browser compatible.
• Work on enhancing the design of course pages, certifications, and exam sections to improve engagement.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest web design trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure the website functions seamlessly.
• Continuously analyze and improve the performance of the website.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Web Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and design tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) or Figma.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and responsive web design.
• Experience with website optimization for speed and performance.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Passion for creating user-centered designs and enhancing online experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in designing educational platforms or e-learning websites.
• Familiarity with CMS (WordPress, Webflow, etc.).
• Experience with SEO principles and web analytics.
