VP R&D

Position Overview:

We are a dynamic and innovative startup in the pharmaceutical industry, currently transitioning from successful prototypes to industrial-scale production. We are seeking an experienced and visionary VP R&D Engineer to lead the research and development department and spearhead the evolution of our manufacturing processes.

As VP R&D Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, transforming concepts into robust industrial solutions, and overseeing the design and optimization of cutting-edge manufacturing systems. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to ensure the seamless execution of R&D initiatives and the successful scale-up of our operations.

• Team Development:
• Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, including building and managing remote machine operator teams  
• Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
• Mentor and guide team members to achieve technical and professional growth.

• At least 7 years of relevant experience. 
• Proven experience in transitioning R&D prototypes to industrial-scale machines and processes.
• .A strong network of international service providers and domain experts, to obtain benchmarks and solve problems on the fly  
• Strong expertise in precise mechanical systems, roll-to-roll manufacturing, and high-viscosity liquid application technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize manufacturing workflows, ensuring high precision and reliability.
• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, with a hands-on approach to design and development.
• Ability to work independently, adhering to strict timelines, and achieving milestones.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to technical challenges.
• Experience in managing suppliers and external partners, with a focus on quality and cost-efficiency.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Ph.D. is a plus.
• Previous experience in a startup environment or working with cutting-edge technologies is highly desirable.
