Role Overview:

We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced Head of DevOps to lead the evolution of our infrastructure and DevOps methodologies as we scale. If you’re passionate about building robust, scalable systems and leading a high-performing team in a dynamic startup environment, we’d love to talk to you!

In this role, you will be instrumental in driving our cloud infrastructure and deployment processes while helping define and develop the core tools that power our applications. You will have the opportunity to influence all stages of product development, from concept to deployment, while working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

As Head of DevOps, you will lead the DevOps function, ensuring the efficient scaling of our infrastructure, and managing cloud services to support extreme data and traffic loads. You will be responsible for the design, deployment, and optimization of cloud infrastructure, automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting. This is a key leadership role that will require you to collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance at scale.

What will your day-to-day look like:

• Lead the design, deployment, and scaling of media processing and web services infrastructure to support significant data loads and traffic (we have 1000s of pods and 100s of nodes on EKS).
• Own the deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and uptime of all production AWS cloud environments.
• Design and optimize infrastructure for video processing, continuous ML training, and real-time prediction.
• Drive the development and implementation of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation processes.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Data, and Product teams, taking full ownership of systems from concept through post-deployment.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies in our infrastructure stack: AWS, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, Redis, MySQL.
• Lead the implementation of best practices for infrastructure as code (IaC), automation, monitoring, and logging.
  
  

• At least 10 years of experience in a DevOps role, preferably at a startup or fast-growing company, 2+ managerial experience
• Strong technical skills and a solid understanding of system and infrastructure design.
• Extensive experience with the Kubernetes stack: Docker, K8S, Helm, ArgoCD, Ingress, Service mesh, etc.
• Proficient in working with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI.
• Proven experience writing and maintaining infrastructure as code (AWS CDK, Terraform, Crossplane – advantage).
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging technologies: Prometheus, Grafana, Coralogix (advantage).
• Familiar with how modern web applications scale and operate in production environments.
• Strong knowledge in networking, firewall rules management, and application security.
• Extensive experience with Linux environments, scripting, and programming.
• Ability to think strategically and carry out system architecture planning.
• Experience with resource optimization and cost management (advantage).
• Familiarity with SOC2 compliance and security standards (advantage).
• Proficiency in any programming language (Python, Node.js, Ruby) is a plus.
• Highly independent, with strong ownership and a sense of urgency. A “self-starter” with a startup mentality.
