Head of Machine Systems Design

Job Overview:

Israel Shipyards is seeking a senior manager and subject matter expert to lead the field of machine systems design for marine vessels. This role combines technical leadership, project management, and team development to drive the success of marine engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the Machine Systems Planning for Vessels as the Marine Engineering Team Manager.
2. Oversee the development, planning, and transition to production (NPI) of machine systems for vessels and marine facilities, including propulsion systems, piping, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.
3. Collaborate with engineering departments and subcontractors to align with and achieve project objectives.
4. Manage and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized academic institution (master’s degree preferred).
• Expertise and proven experience in marine engineering systems, including in-depth knowledge of machine systems for vessels and their maintenance requirements.
• Experience in designing and managing the design process for mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD software.
• Fluency in English and Hebrew, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to create high-level techno-engineering documents with a compelling narrative ("storytelling").

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background and experience in the Navy’s technological systems within the relevant professional discipline.
