Our client is a global leader in advance digital surgery solutions including robotic assisted technology onward to AI/ML empowered surgical innovation.

This digital surgery pioneer has created a surgical platform that digitizes the interface between the surgeon and the patient to improve minimally invasive surgery through digital laparoscopy.

It enables the use of advanced capabilities such as augmented intelligence, connectivity, and robotics in laparoscopy and seeks to address the current clinical, cognitive, and economic shortcomings in surgery.

This organization has contracted our office to assist in expanding their Israeli R&D team and seeking a Sr. Computer Vision Research Scientist advancing the next generation of AI and vision-assisted robotics in the operating room.

This includes implementing computer vision algorithms, handling video or image acquisition, processing, and display.

The role requires working in an agile global R&D team and collaborating with cross-functional departments to define requirements, design new features, and comply with regulatory requirements, including the company's design control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work with a multi-disciplinary team of experts and engineers to deliver an end-to-end product: from the idea phase, through collecting and assessing the data, exploring algorithmic approaches, developing, testing, validating and integrating the algorithm in the production environment.
• Contribute to the team’s methodologies, best practices and toolset, as well as sharing and receiving constructive feedback.
• Understand algorithmic requirements and convert these into usable solutions.
• Utilize existing research, literature and study of existing state of the art tools to develop best in class solutions.
• Develop mathematical and numerical tools to support development.
• Manage large amounts of data and process into usable information.
• Evaluate the performance on benchmarks and improve as necessary.
• All other duties as directed.

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• MSc in Computer Science or related fields (EE, Math, Physics, etc.); Ph.D – Advantage.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Computer Vision algorithms.
• Strong background in machine learning and deep learning.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Ability to initiate and lead machine learning projects end to end.
• Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Familiarity with IPP, OpenCV and similar libraries.
• Deep domain experience and hands-on knowledge or academic research background in at least one of the following is an advantage: VAN/SLAM, Motion estimation (i.e Optical flow, Tracking), Segmentation, GNN, 3D reconstruction
• Experience with Linux.

Language Skills

• Good verbal and writing capabilities in Hebrew and English.

Optional Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Experience with using LMM/VLM(Vision-Language) frameworks – Advantage.
• Familiar with ML tools such as W&B or ClearML – Advantage.
• Experience in a global medical device company – Advantage.
• Experience with Cuda Kernel programming – Advantage.
