Overview:

The Assistant Controller is a key member of the finance team, responsible for supporting the Controller and bookkeeping manager in managing the organization's financial operations. This role involves a wide range of duties, including financial analysis, accounting, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent analytical abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

• Assist in preparing monthly, Termly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Perform financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and ratio analysis.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential issues.

Accounting Operations:

• Oversee the general ledger and ensure its accuracy.
• Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations.

Internal Controls:

• Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls.
• Monitor compliance with internal control policies and procedures.
• Conduct internal audits and reviews.

Tax Compliance:

• Assist with the preparation of tax returns and filings.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification obtained post-internship.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting principles.Proficiency in financial systems and software, including ERP platforms, Excel, and analytical tools (e.g., VBA, Power BI).
• Expertise in financial modeling and scenario analysis.Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial data analysis and reporting.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.
