Data Collection Operator

The Swedish company, Husqvarna Group, is the world leader in outdoor robotics. Tel-Aviv AI Lab is working in collaboration with Husqvarna and focuses on machine learning, computer vision and localization technologies. As part of the AI Lab, you will have an opportunity to take part in the development of advanced technologies that will be used in Husqvarna’s future autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).

In this position as a Data Collection Operator, you will be responsible for collecting video, image and other sensor data while operating a mobile robotic platform.

The Responsibilities of The Position Would Include 

• Outdoor operation of a mobile robotic platform in different green spaces in Israel, such as residential gardens, public gardens, public parks, golf courses and other outdoor sports fields.
• Walk a pre-determined test route for data collection, and provide feedback on the performance of the equipment.
• Control recording devices and perform minor equipment/software debugging when necessary. 
• Analyze/report data collected during the shift.
• Upload data collected to cloud storage and write daily reports detailing observations and issues.
• Ensure assigned equipment is in proper and safe working condition and safely transported to various collection sites.
• Communicate with the lab personnel when issues arise that need addressing in a timely manner.

We Are Looking For 

• Engineering or science student, with at least 3 semesters left to complete the degree.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule; Day/night shifts with the flexibility to work when convenient, even on weekends.
• Ability to operate complex technological equipment.
• Ability to load and unload 20kg equipment into a car.
• Ability to work a full working day outdoors in varying whether conditions.
• Car ownership and a valid driving license are a must.
• Basic software development skills.
• Basic Linux terminal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and writing reports/documentation.
• Ability to individually learn various concepts and skills.
• Comfortable working independently with limited oversight.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Good written and spoken English.
