R&D Project Manager

A cutting-edge technology company is developing an advanced counter-drone solution to secure urban environments by detecting, tracking, and safely landing unauthorized drones. The organization is seeking an experienced R&D Project Manager to join its highly skilled team and play a key role in shaping the defense counter-drone market. This position involves leading technical product development projects and transitioning to a Scrum-based methodology. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic and innovative environment, working alongside top-tier professionals.

Responsibilities

• Transition Development Methodology: Drive the transition from squad-based teams to a Scrum framework, managing all stages of the project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure).
• Roadmap and Milestone Management: Establish project roadmaps, define project scope and success criteria, manage backlogs, timelines, and track key milestones, KPIs, and dependencies.
• End-to-End Project Execution: Take full ownership of projects, overseeing all aspects of execution in collaboration with large-scale R&D teams.
• Team Coordination: Orchestrate multiple development teams to ensure effective collaboration and alignment across activities.
• Program Increment (PI) Planning: Facilitate PI planning sessions and manage the solution Kanban to optimize work breakdown and productivity for development teams.
  
  

• 5-10 years of experience managing programs in technical product development environments.
• Proven experience with Scrum methodology.
• Demonstrated success in designing and delivering large-scale programs that drive long-term business goals and revenue.
• Ability to lead teams through change, adapting strategies to align with evolving business needs.
• Strong technical acumen, with the ability to extract actionable insights from complex technical discussions and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency with Atlassian JIRA & Confluence or equivalent project management tools.
• R&D background as an engineer (preferably software development, but integration experience will also be considered).
  
  

• Experience with Agile SAFe methodology is an advantage.
• Completion of an official SAFe training program is a plus.
