Role Overview:

So this is not a classic application developer position - this role requires very in-depth knowledge of javascript, web performance, and infrastructure. You'll probably be reverse engineering chromium internals in order to build the most powerful and resilient systems. We are looking for an experienced (hacker-style) software tech lead - preferably with significant video expertise - who can provide outstanding technical leadership and drive the team to success.

What will your day to day look like:

You will have the opportunity to identify and resolve complex problems, proposing creative solutions and long-term strategies. You will also mentor engineers, while optimizing, scaling, and innovating the core of our product and our overall development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Work to solve complex and intricate technical problems on multiple levels including code, architecture, and product and find balanced, practical solutions for the present and the future of our video solutions
• Be a role model and technical mentor to other engineers, inspiring others to take initiatives and developing a cohesive and innovative technical vision

Your areas of expertise most relevant to this role:

• BSc (or higher) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related technical field
• 6+ years of industry experience in a production web environment, ideally with a focus on video, with a deep understanding of web standards and modern frameworks
• Massive experience developing in javascript, experience in react and node
• Deep understanding of core web development and performance, specifically on the client
• Strong CS fundamentals and experience with video creation, editing, and playback
• Understanding of uncompressed video formats and codecs (e.g. HLS, MPEG-DASH)
• Experience in mentoring engineers, being a technical leader both in the solutions and execution
• Effective written and verbal English communication skills
