Chief Business Officer for a leading IoT company in the Industry 4.0 sector.
Position Scope & Availability:
- Initial engagement: 40% position scope
- Transition to full-time position upon completion of upcoming funding round
- Immediate availability required - only candidates available to start within 30 days will be considered
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Management: Drive revenue generation through effective management of SaaS products and services, leveraging your experience in a hardware company.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and analyze and evaluate markets to expand company's technologies’ reach. Develop and execute strategies for market penetration and growth.
- Growth Leadership: Lead marketing efforts and sales expansion of our products and services from pre-sales to global sales. Guide the company through significant milestones, including strategic partnerships, acquisition or spinoff.
- Customer Conversion: Convert pilot customers into full subscribers of our SaaS offerings, ensuring a seamless transition and fostering long-term customer relationships.
- Lead Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire lead lifecycle, from generating leads to converting them into sales, while continuously refining and improving lead management routines.
- Contract Negotiations: Manage the negotiation of large-scale contracts and offers, ensuring alignment with company goals and driving sustainable growth.
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop and maintain strategic partnerships to support business development initiatives and enhance the company’s market position.
- Product Insights: Utilize a background in process engineering, mechanical engineering, or a strong affinity for mechanics to feed into the organization market feedback about product offerings and their applications.
- Drive new models, products, and ideas across the organization and team
- Lead commercial discussions and agreements.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Senior executive with significant management experience, including 15+ years in global business development and sales, following processes from leads to actual commercial agreements
Proven track record in executive management positions, leading large teams and driving organizational success
Proven track record in a revenue-generating management position within a hardware company (just SW is not enough), particularly in selling SaaS products, and establishing new business models
Experience in Industry 4.0 companies is a significant advantage. Otherwise, must have business experience in companies with multidisciplinary products (hardware-software integration)
Extensive experience in business development, with a focus on execution, scaling operations, evaluating and entering new markets
Experience in a company or department that scaled from pre-sales to global sales and has gone through acquisition, IPO, or spinoff
Proven experience in fundraising and involvement in capital raising processes o Experience working with international corporate organizations]
Technical Background:
- Affinity and understanding of mechanics is preferred.
- Degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Sales, Negotiation, and Business Development Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to turn leads into sales and manage lead lifecycles effectively.
- Proven success in negotiating large-scale contracts and offers.
- Ability to identify, develop, and maintain strategic business partnerships.
