Location: Flexible and part time (Remote with occasional travel to Israel or other key locations)

About Let’s Do SomethingLet’s Do Something is a dynamic non-profit start-up organization founded in memory of David Newman, who was murdered at the Nova Music Festival, dedicated to strengthening the resilience of Israeli society through initiatives focused on Defense, Healing, and Advocacy. Our programs support the IDF, provide healing services for PTSD, and foster international relationships, particularly between the U.S. and Israel. We are growing rapidly and seeking a passionate, strategic leader to join our team as Director of Development to expand our impact globally.
Position OverviewThe Director of Development will lead all fundraising efforts, build sustainable donor relationships, and oversee the development strategy for the organization. This includes identifying new funding opportunities, stewarding donors, managing fundraising campaigns, and ensuring the financial growth necessary to fulfill our mission. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, results-driven, and deeply committed to supporting Israel and its communities.
Key Responsibilities1. Fundraising Strategy and Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet and exceed annual revenue goals.
- Design and execute fundraising campaigns, including capital campaigns, recurring donor programs, and special initiatives.
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including grants, corporate sponsorships, major gifts, and individual donors.
2. Donor Relations and Stewardship
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with existing and prospective donors at all levels.
- Create personalized engagement strategies to deepen donor involvement and support.
- Develop and maintain a robust database of donor information to track communications and contributions.
3. Partnerships and Collaboration
- Build partnerships with individuals, foundations, and corporations to secure funding for projects such as the healing center in Thailand and IDF defense initiatives.
- Work closely with the CEO and board members to align development goals with organizational priorities.
- Collaborate with program teams to develop compelling narratives and proposals that communicate the impact of our work.
4. Grant Writing and Reporting
- Oversee grant research, writing, and reporting processes to ensure compliance with funder requirements.
- Track grant application deadlines and submit timely, high-quality proposals.
5. Event Planning and Execution
- Plan and execute high-profile fundraising events, including donor appreciation gatherings, community events, and gala dinners.
- Engage influencers and key stakeholders to enhance visibility and support for the organization.
6. Marketing and Communications
- Partner with the communications team to develop impactful messaging, fundraising collateral, and donor reports.
- Create compelling donor impact stories and case studies for outreach.
- Experience: At least 2-5 years in non-profit development, fundraising, or a related field, with a proven track record of achieving fundraising goals.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management abilities, with experience leading development teams or initiatives.
- Communication: Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Grant writing experience is a must.
- Relationship Building: Demonstrated success in cultivating and stewarding donor relationships, including with high-net-worth individuals and foundations.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think creatively and strategically about expanding donor bases and revenue streams.
- Passion: Deep commitment to Israel, Jewish advocacy, and supporting affected communities.
- Tech Skills: Proficiency in CRM systems and fundraising platforms.
- Flexibility: Ability to travel for donor meetings and events as needed.
