System Administrator

We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Administrator to manage and maintain cloud infrastructure for multiple systems hosted on AWS Cloud. This role demands expertise in system administration across diverse environments, including Linux, Windows, and Kubernetes-based systems. You will ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability for applications running on a mix of technologies, backed by RDS databases (PostgreSQL and SQL Server).

Key Responsibilities:

●     AWS Infrastructure Management:

○     Deploy, monitor, and manage systems using AWS services such as EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, Redis, S3, CloudWatch, and VPC.

○     Ensure cost-effective and secure deployment practices.

●     System Administration:

○     Maintain and optimize Linux (Ubuntu) servers running Node.js, Java, and Laravel applications.

○     Manage Windows servers hosting ASP.NET Core applications on AWS Elastic Beanstalk.

○     Oversee Kubernetes clusters hosting Java-based applications on Linux servers.

●     Database Management:

○     Administer RDS instances for PostgreSQL and SQL Server, including performance tuning, backups, and security.

●     Automation and Monitoring:

○     Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.

○     Monitor systems using AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, or similar tools, ensuring high availability and incident response.

●     Security and Compliance:

○     Manage user access, IAM policies, and security groups.

○     Ensure systems comply with best practices for data protection and cloud security.

●     Troubleshooting and Support:

○     Respond to and resolve system issues promptly to minimize downtime.

○     Collaborate with development teams to support application performance and reliability.

●     Documentation and Reporting:

○     Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for configurations, processes, and troubleshooting.

○     Generate periodic reports on system health, performance, and costs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

●     Background:

○    Over 3 years experience as system administrator

○     Bachelor’s degree or graduate courses in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

●     Technical Skills:

○     Strong experience with AWS Cloud Services (e.g., EC2, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk, S3, VPC, IAM).

○     Proficiency in managing Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments.

○     Knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, VPNs, Load Balancers).

○     Expertise in database administration for PostgreSQL and SQL Server.

○     Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or AWS CloudWatch.

●     Soft Skills:

○     Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

○     Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

○     Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively.

○     Ability to engage and provide services and guidance to our teams abroad

○     Fluent in English- speaking and writing

Preferred Qualifications:

●     AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or similar.

●     Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS

●     Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and/or containerization tools like Docker.

●     Familiarity with DevOps practices and methodologies.

●     Basic knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, VPNs, Load Balancers).

●     Familiarity with Node.js, Java, PHP Laravel, and ASP.NET Core ecosystems.
